Biography

Born in 1991, Geoffrey Nguyen is a French pianist originally from Vietnam who dedicates his life to the practice of music.

Passionate about music since childhood, he started playing the piano at the age of four. After his scientific baccalaureate obtained during his sixteenth year, he decided to seriously begin to study music and the following year entered the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris - Alfred Cortot. His curiosity and desire to learn also led him to attend the Schola Cantorum, where he became a student of the great Catalan musician Narcis Bonet, himself a student of Nadia Boulanger, to study harmony, counterpoint and interpretation by analysis.

In 2015 he met the American pianist of Polish origin Michael Wladkovski, who taught him the basics of the art of playing the piano. Thanks to his teaching, Geoffrey begins a long personal path of inner, musical and pianistic development which will lead him to leave Paris to study in Scotland at the Royal Conservatory of Scotland, from where he will have the freedom necessary to make his ideas flourish as well as his musical vision.

He completed a Master in Performance there in 2022, followed by a year of improvement devoted to French music - his favorite repertoire - notably with the start of a long work on the complete piano music of Debussy, reinforced by second prize in the “A Ramsay Calder Debussy Prize” competition. His repertoire also includes works by Chopin, Ravel, Schumann, Roussel, De Séverac and many others, as well as some of the great Piano Concertos.

Since 2023 Geoffrey has settled in Champagne, from where he transmits his knowledge and his love for music. He regularly performs in recitals in France and abroad, notably in Greece, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Vietnam.
